GEOGRAPHICAL

The latest issue of GEOGRAPHICAL is on the theme of CLIMATE CHANGE. It's a very useful journal to have as there is a coherent theme...
Picked up my copy at the Royal Geographical Society. One of the benefits of being a Fellow and Chartered Geographer - why not apply ?
I do take issue slightly with the final piece, where Stuart Franklin, the president of the Magnum Photos Agency rolls out the old one about how dull his school geography was. He does at least acknowledge that "whether complex subjects such as geography can be brought alive depends on the knowledge, enthusiasm and confidence of its teachers". Teacher confidence is not helped by the later section of the interview where he is quoted as saying "What British geography lacks is great geographers".
Check out the book "Footprint: our landscape in flux" that is referred to in the article.
