Professor David Lambert

Confirmation on the GA website today of news that I've known about for a while. David Lambert is to step down as Chief Executive of the Geographical Association to concentrate on his work at the Institute of Education.
He has been in charge of the GA for 10 years, and for half of that time has been working part time at the Institute. From the announcement on the GA website.

David says: 'This is a good time for a new Chief Executive to help forge the future. The GA is well placed to increase still further its influence and to extend its leadership and support for geography education in this country.
'I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the brilliant staff in Sheffield and extensive and diverse force of volunteers. It will go from strength to strength.'
On behalf of everyone involved with the GA - members, volunteers and staff - we wish David all the best in the future and extend our thanks to him for his inspirational and tireless leadership of the organisation over the past ten years.

This is an interesting time for the GA, and I look forward with interest to seeing who is appointed as David's replacement in May.
